Recently extinct wild animals of kasaragod district

Many wild animals which were seen in hilly areas of kasaragod thought to be extinct because of delay in declararion of a wild life sanctauries by kerala forest department. Mamals such as tigers, lion tailed macaques, malabar civet, sloth bear, black panther, nilgiri tahr, musk deer and some other deer species are not reported for the past 30 years from now. It is high time to declare a wildlife sanctuary (reserve forests of the district) to protect remaining wildlife and forest in this part of the kerala state. MLAs / MP and local panchayath should actively discussed about notifying a wildlife sanctuary here. A strict vigilance from the police dept should be there to tackle illegal hunting which is taking place daily (during night) in the reserve forests of kasaragod-kanhangad range.
